Crossroad Blues….

If you drive downtown in Hazelhurst, Mississippi, you may see a small memorial… or tombstone…. Billy Gibbons of ZZ Top paid for it….

It’s for Robert Johnson….

And… this… is for Tadpole….

The Crossroad in question is supposed to be somewhere on Highway 61…. North of Natchez…. South of the lobby of the Peabody Hotel in Memphis….

And this… is the Crossroad Blues….
Chicken-pickin’ Acoustic Guitar Intro. A bit of Dobro… just for fun….

I suppose that I should explain that Standard Dobro tuning is Open G of a different variety: GBDgbd. I played in Standard Dobro tuning with National Steel finger and thumb picks and a Dunlop Rail bar…. Don’t care for the Bullet bars particularly….

I guess that still leaves a few unanswered questions….

Do I need a singer…?
Do you know the lyrics…?
Can you sing it slow… and dirty…?
